 A fuel injector is a crucial component of a vehicle's fuel system that delivers the right amount of fuel to the engine's combustion chamber. It is designed to atomize and spray fuel under high pressure directly into the engine cylinders, ensuring efficient fuel combustion and optimal engine performance.

 The fuel injection nozzle is a small, precision-engineered component located at the tip of the fuel injector. Its main function is to atomize the pressurized fuel into small droplets and disperse them evenly into the engine's combustion chamber. This process is essential for the efficient burning of fuel and the generation of power in the engine.

Function of Fuel Injection Nozzle: 

Fuel Delivery: The fuel injector receives pressurized fuel from the fuel pump and delivers it to the fuel injection nozzle.
Atomization: The fuel injection nozzle atomizes the liquid fuel into tiny droplets to facilitate better mixing with air in the combustion chamber.
Spray Pattern: The fuel injection nozzle is designed to create a specific spray pattern that ensures uniform fuel distribution for optimal combustion.
Timing Control: The fuel injection nozzle controls the timing and duration of fuel injection into the combustion chamber, synchronized with the engine's operation.
Fuel Efficiency: By delivering precisely measured fuel in a fine spray, the fuel injection nozzle helps improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Carbon deposits on fuel injection nozzles and their effects:

As one of the key components of the electronic injection engine, the fuel injector's working quality will seriously affect the performance of the engine. A clogged fuel injector can seriously affect vehicle performance. The reason for the clogging is that carbon deposits in the engine are deposited on the injector or impurities in the fuel block the injector passage. After a car has been driven for a period of time, certain deposits will form in the fuel system. The formation of sediments is directly related to the fuel of automobiles: firstly, because the gasoline itself contains colloids and impurities, or dust and impurities brought in during storage and transportation, sludge-like deposits are formed over time in automobile fuel tanks, fuel inlet pipes, etc. Secondly, the unstable components in gasoline react at a certain temperature to form gum and resinous viscous substances. When these viscous substances are burned in fuel injectors, intake valves and other parts, the deposits will turn into hard carbon deposits.

Cleaning of fuel injector:

Therefore, it is recommended that you clean the fuel injector regularly. Generally speaking, it is recommended to clean the injector every 15,000 to 30,000 miles (approximately 24,000 to 48,000 kilometers) or every 12 to 18 months. However, the following situations may require more frequent injector cleaning:

Poor fuel quality: Using low-quality fuel or frequently refueling at poor-quality gas stations may cause carbon to build up more quickly, requiring more frequent injector cleaning.

Long-term idling and low-speed driving: Long-term idling or frequent low-speed and high-load driving will lead to accumulation of oil stains and accelerate carbon deposition in the fuel injection nozzle.

Decreased engine performance: If you notice a decrease in engine performance, such as reduced power, increased fuel consumption, or erratic vibration, this may be a sign that the fuel injector is clogged and needs to be cleaned in time.

Cleaning method:

Use fuel injector cleaner: There are special fuel injector cleaner products on the market that can be added directly to the fuel tank, allowing the cleaner to enter the fuel injector along with the fuel for cleaning.

Turbine oil line cleaning: The part connected to the turbocharger is often the visible part of the oil. You can clean and remove carbon deposits near the fuel injectors by adding turbo cleaner.

Injector post-heat cleaning: The nozzles usually come out cleaner when flushed with hot water. This can be done by using professional cleaning equipment to ensure a more thorough cleaning.

Professional cleaning: Some vehicle manufacturers recommend having injectors cleaned by professional technicians during certain maintenance periods. This can usually be done at a vehicle repair shop or a professional car repair shop.

Clean it yourself: If you have some knowledge of car repairs, you can also clean the fuel injector yourself. Before cleaning, be sure to read your vehicle's maintenance manual to learn the proper procedures and tools for cleaning. Special fuel injector cleaning equipment and solvents can usually be used for cleaning.
